You work hard. McCurtain hard, too.
It’s the busiest three-day weekend of the year. Make the most of it.
You already have that cabin. Now you need to nab those lake spots. Reserve those water toys. Book that zipline tour. It’s that last bit of summer – and we all know it. Don’t let it taunt you. Labor Day weekend and McCurtain County were made for each other. And places start disappearing fast for that reason.
Whether you want to pack your weekend full of activities, or you’re just looking for a little lake time, booking ahead is definitely the smart way to go. Start plotting those must-dos, and securing your spots.
Labor Day Weekend Hot Spots
Broken Bow Lake
This is an obvious one, because few can resist a three-day weekend and lake pairing. 22 miles of clear, freshwater (the largest in the state) made for swimming, boating, wakeboarding, jetskiing, paddleboarding – just about anything.
Beavers Bend State Park
A state park that is much more than pretty scenery. Spanning 1,300 acres, the park is packed with trails ranging from the easier side to pro territory, ziplining, golfing, horseback riding and more.
Lower Mountain Fork River
Canoe, kayak and fish your way down the Lower Mountain Fork. As a whitewater/flatwater run, it offers excitement when you need it without being overwhelming for beginners. Plus, it has a waterfall.
