Honobia Creek Wildlife Management Area

Honobia Creek Wildlife Management Area

The Honobia Creek Wildlife Management Area covers 80,000 acres in Pushmataha and LeFlore counties in southeast Oklahoma. It includes part of the Ouachita National Forest and a stretch of privately owned timberlands, and includes the Upper Mountain Fork, Glover and Eagle Fork rivers. The area is ideal for hunters and anglers with its variety of game and fish species. A Land Access Permit is required to enter the area, and although it contains no designated camping areas, primitive camping is allowed.

Trails throughout the area are perfect for hiking, mountain biking and limited ATV riding. See local ATV restrictions, regulations and other information here.

But the prime activities in the Honobia area are hunting and fishing. The area is roamed by white-tailed deer, turkey, quail, dove, rabbit and other game; and anglers can find sunfish and bass in area rivers, as well as small ponds peppered throughout the land full of bass, sunfish and channel catfish. For more information on hunting and fishing in the Honobia Creek Wildlife Area, including licensing information, seasons and other regulations, visit the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation website.
