Talimena National Scenic Byway

Fall in McCurtain County is spectacular; the tree leaves turn different shades of red, gold, yellow, purple, bronze, and orange. Normally the leaves start to change in mid October and peak foliage is normally early to mid November. Highway 259 is very scenic throughout the year. The Talihina Scenic Drive is north of Broken Bow just outside of the county. The Talimena Scenic Byway is a nationally recognized scenic drive with offering magnificent views from mountain tops in Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas.
