If you\u2019re searching for out-of-the-box experiences, Beavers Bend State Park<\/a> offers several options sure to wow moody teens and Instagram followers alike.<\/p>\n

Horseback rides<\/a> through the creeks. Paddle boats<\/a> under the Lower Mountain Fork River<\/a>\u2019s cypress trees. ATV tours<\/a> and mountain biking<\/a> across the Ouachita National Forest<\/a>. Zipline rides<\/a> over Broken Bow Lake<\/a>. You never know what fun you\u2019ll get into when you leave your comfort zone back at the cabin.<\/p>\n

Get Your Daily Dose of Nature<\/h2>\n

After a long winter, Beavers Bend, Oklahoma<\/a> really comes alive from March through May. So go get a gander at Mother Nature\u2019s finest work. The best way is with a hike<\/a> on one of Beavers Bend State Park<\/a>\u2019s dozen trails<\/a>. From easy nature walks<\/a> for beginners to higher incline hikes<\/a> for more advanced outdoorsmen, you\u2019ll stumble across panoramic views of the Lower Mountain Fork River<\/a>, rushing waterfalls, and depending when you\u2019re in town, mushrooms and colorful wildflowers too.<\/p>\n

\"Golfer<\/p>\n

Hit the Greens<\/h2>\n

Up for a few rounds? Schedule a tee time at one of Beavers Bend\u2019s beautiful golf courses<\/a>. Just north of Beavers Bend State Park<\/a>, Cedar Creek<\/a> features 18 holes of grade-A lake views\u2026and one of the hardest shots in the state of Oklahoma. Idabel Country Club<\/a> is another favorite for families and golfers of all experience levels. Just follow the sky-high pines straight down Highway 259.<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t exactly put the \u201cTiger\u201d in these woods, one of Hochatown\u2019s all-ages mini golf courses<\/a> might be more up your alley. Choose from a swashbuckling adventure at Kraken\u2019s Revenge<\/a>, the roadside kitsch of Old West Town Mini Golf<\/a>, or some of Hochatown Amusements<\/a>\u2019 high octane family fun.<\/p>\n

\"Baby<\/p>\n

Go Alligator Hunting in the Red Slough<\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re up for a springtime side quest, grab some local coffee<\/a> to-go and head to Red Slough Wildlife Management Area<\/a>. About an hour south of Hochatown, Red Slough<\/a> is home to over 8,000 acres of wetlands typical of Louisiana or Florida. Spring break is one of the best times to visit the area, so be sure to bring your binoculars. Along with some of the best birdwatching<\/a> in the region, you just might spot an alligator or two, as this Oklahoma oddity is one of the only places in the state where alligators are known to breed. If gators don\u2019t do it for you, the miles of blooming lily pads alone are worth the drive.<\/p>\n

Get a Springtime Sugar Rush<\/h2>\n

You\u2019re gonna need some energy for all that play. So treat yourself to something sweet<\/a>. Donuts, macarons, cupcakes.
