Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about hosting a training, meeting, or event at the Mission Kids Training Center.

Hosting at the Center

Who can attend or host a training?

The Mission Kids Regional Training Center welcomes nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools and educational institutions, healthcare organizations, professional associations, businesses, community partners, and other groups seeking a professional space for training, education, meetings, or collaborative events. Organizations or individuals may rent the facility to host their own programs or partner with Mission Kids on training opportunities.

What types of training and events can the center accommodate?

The Mission Kids Regional Training Center is designed to be flexible and can accommodate much more than traditional training programs.

Outside organizations, including nonprofits, social service agencies, government entities, businesses and corporations, professional associations, community groups, and individuals, are welcome to use the facility for their own meetings, trainings, events, and gatherings.

The facility can accommodate:
  • Professional development and continuing education sessions
  • Conferences, seminars, and workshops
  • Leadership retreats and strategic planning sessions
  • Corporate and organizational meetings
  • Large-group presentations and breakout sessions
  • Networking events and professional gatherings
  • Expos, resource fairs, and community events
  • Special events and receptions
  • Multidisciplinary team trainings
  • Courtroom and trial preparation
  • Forensic interviewing and investigative training
  • Simulation and scenario-based learning
  • Experiential training using our mock apartment, Mock Courtroom, Mock Forensic Interview Rooms, and other specialized spaces
  • Community education and caregiver programs
  • Virtual and hybrid learning opportunities
Our goal is to provide organizations with a professional, modern alternative to traditional hotel and conference rentals. Rather than spending thousands of dollars on a conventional meeting venue, organizations can host their event in a thoughtfully designed, technology-equipped training center while investing those dollars back into a local nonprofit.

Revenue generated through facility rentals helps support Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center and our work to help children and families impacted by abuse, strengthen the professionals who serve them, and sustain prevention, education, and training efforts throughout our community.

Organizations receive the professional environment, technology, flexibility, and amenities they expect from a traditional conference venue, while knowing that their investment has a greater community impact.

Can Mission Kids assist with training development?

Yes. Mission Kids can do much more than provide a room. Depending on the needs of the organization, our team can help identify training goals, develop or strengthen content, connect organizations with subject-matter experts, structure an engaging learning experience, coordinate speakers, and determine how our specialized training spaces can enhance the program. Mission Kids also offers an extensive menu of professional development and prevention education programs that can be incorporated into an event.

Spaces & Technology

What technology is available?

The Regional Training Center was built with professional training and collaboration in mind and includes integrated audiovisual technology throughout the facility. Available technology varies by space and may include presentation displays, audio and microphone capabilities, video conferencing and virtual presentation technology, digital signage, and specialized technology within experiential training environments. Our team can review the technical needs of each event and recommend the most appropriate space and setup.

Are hybrid trainings supported?

Yes. The Training Center can support hybrid programs that include both in-person and virtual participants. Our team can work with organizers in advance to determine the appropriate room, audiovisual setup, presentation format, and technical needs to create a strong experience for both audiences.

How are spaces selected?

Spaces are selected based on the needs of each event rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our team considers factors such as:
  • Number of participants
  • Training format and agenda
  • Classroom, conference, or small-group setup
  • Breakout room needs
  • Technology requirements
  • Food and beverage plans
  • Accessibility needs
  • Use of specialized spaces such as the Mock Courtroom, Mock Forensic Interview Rooms, Ignite Lab, or experiential learning environments
For larger or more complex programs, multiple spaces can be combined to create a customized training experience.

Is catering available?

Yes. Catering can be incorporated into events hosted at the Regional Training Center. The facility includes a dedicated catering pantry to support meals, refreshments, and food service for training participants. Mission Kids can work with organizations to coordinate catering needs and discuss available options as part of the event-planning process.

Booking

How do organizations request dates?

Organizations can submit a facility rental or training inquiry with their preferred dates, anticipated number of attendees, event type, space needs, and any technology or catering requirements. A member of the Mission Kids team will follow up to review availability, discuss the event, recommend appropriate spaces, and provide pricing and next steps.

You can also contact Michelle McDyre, Director of Training & Education, at mmcdyre@missionkidscac.org.

Does submitting an inquiry confirm a reservation?

No. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee or reserve a date. Dates and spaces are confirmed after availability has been reviewed with Mission Kids and all required rental arrangements have been completed. Organizations are encouraged to inquire as early as possible, particularly for larger events, multi-day trainings, or programs requiring multiple specialized spaces.
