How to Support Dragonfly: Our Wish List

From toiletries to gift cards, here’s what our survivors need right now.

Supporting survivors of human trafficking doesn’t always look like writing a check. Sometimes it looks like a pack of socks. A soft throw blanket. A bottle of shampoo waiting on a shelf when someone walks through our door for the first time. At The Dragonfly Home, we believe that every survivor deserves to feel seen, cared for, and safe — and the community around us makes that possible every single day. Whether you’re an individual looking to give what you can, a business wanting to make an impact, or a group ready to organize a drive, there’s a place for you here.

Below is our current wish list. Every item on it goes directly to the women and men we serve.

Urgent, Immediate Needs

These are the items we need most right now — the everyday essentials that go fast when you’re serving people around the clock.

  • Toilet paper
  • Hand soap
  • Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash)
  • Ethnic hair products
  • Socks
  • Soft throw blankets
  • Undergarments (bras and underwear, all sizes)
  • Make-up (foundation, powder, mascara — all shades)
  • Cleaning supplies (laundry detergent)

Want to organize a drive? Contact jessica@thedragonflyhome.org for more information.

Everyday Essentials

These are the staples that keep our crisis center running smoothly and our clients comfortable. We can always use these.

  • Toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels
  • Feminine hygiene products (tampons and pads)
  • Air freshener and fragrant wax melts
  • Clorox wipes and Windex
  • Filing folders, pens, printer paper, and printer ink (contact us for the printer model before purchasing)

Gift Cards

Gift cards give our team the flexibility to get survivors exactly what they need — groceries, clothing, uniforms, crisis items, or a few things from the snack aisle that make a hard week feel a little more human.

  • Sam’s Club
  • Walmart
  • Target
  • Gas cards (always appreciated)

Meals

A warm meal is one of the simplest, most meaningful ways to show someone they matter. We welcome both on-the-go options and sit-down meals from local restaurants.

On the Go:

  • McDonald’s
  • Subway
  • Sonic
  • Chick-fil-A

Sit-Down Meals: Local restaurants are always welcome. Reach out if you’d like to sponsor a meal.

Décor & Furnishings for Our Crisis Center

Creating a space that feels safe, warm, and like home matters deeply to us. Items from these stores go toward making our crisis center a place survivors actually want to be.

  • Hobby Lobby
  • Marshall’s
  • TJ Maxx
  • Target

Other Items

  • Colorful journals
  • New or gently used luggage

Please note: Many of our clients have allergies. For their health and comfort, please ensure all donated items are new and unused. We appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Generosity like yours is what makes the work possible. Every item donated, every meal provided, every gift card handed over — it all adds up to something larger than any one of us: a community that refuses to look away, and a place where survivors know they are not alone.

If you have questions about donating items or want to coordinate a larger drive, email our executive director at info@thedragonflyhome.org. And if you’re ready to give financially, you can do that too — make a donation here.

Thank you for standing with us.
